Navtex receiver

		Reception and printout of Navtex messages. Use "Generator of DSC, Inmarsat and Navtex messages" on the instructor place to send these messages.

How to control the program	(P) - power on/off (F) + (P) - press simulatneously - power on/off and test printout (S) - stop alarm (F) - paper feed (D) - dim (backlighting) right arrow - start programming up and down arrows - select/deselect station left arrow - stop programming
Programming reception	NAVTEX messages are coded by the three fields : station, message type and serial number. It is possible to restrict NAVTEX message categories and transmitting stations to only those you wish to receive. Each station in a NAVAREA has its identifying letter. To enter into the programming, press the right arrow button. This brings up the transmitting station selection display. By pressing the right arrow button followed by either up or down arrow, one can select or deselect stations. One click of either button will select, a second click will deselect it or vice versa. Deselected stations are indicated by dash (-). If you are not sure which stations serve your area best, just leave them all selected. You will soon see which stations are relevant to you. Once you have completed your selection, press the left arrow button to bring up the message category selection screen and repeat the above procedure now for message categories. In general, you will wish to leave all message categories active. Message categories are again identified by a single letter : A Navigational warnings B Meteorological warnings C Ice reports D Search & rescue information, and pirate warnings E Meteorological forecasts F Pilot service messages G AIS messages H LORAN messages I Not used J SATNAV messages (i.e. GPS or GLONASS) K Other electronic navaid messages L Navigational warnings - additional to letter A (Should not be rejected by the receiver) T Test transmissions (UK only - not official) V Notice to fishermen (U.S. only - currently not used) W Environmental (U.S. only - currently not used) X Special services - allocation by IMO NAVTEX Panel Y Special services - allocation by IMO NAVTEX Panel Z No message on hand Select the required message categories in the same way that you selected the transmitting stations. You will find that message categories A,B,D and L cannot be deselected. If you have Decca, Loran or satellite navigation equipment on board, do not deselect category G! Press the left arrow button to store your NAVTEX station and message category selections.
Understanding Navtex message format	A NAVTEX message consists of letters ZCZC which mark the start of message a space four characters B1, B2, B3 and B4 carriage return and line feed the text of message the letters NNNN to identify the end of message where B1 is a character identifying the station, B2 is a message category. B3 and B4 - message serial number.
